Electrical engineering (EE, pronounced “double E”) is one of the hardest majors at Tech. The primary reasons for this reputation are the classes EE 51 and EE 52: project classes that can take 20-30 (or more) hours per week, and even then, many students need extra time after the term ends to complete them.

Thus, the EEs of Caltech have something of a reputation for, well, resilience.
